| Leader | We light the first candle, the Candle of Prophecy, to remind us of all the years people waited in Hope for the coming of the Messiah and longed for God's Kingdom to be established. |  |

| Leader | A king like no other - ever-loving, just and good: | |

A king whose kingdom would be filled with love
and peace: |

You, Jesus, are our king. |

A king to guide us in the ways of God, the way
to live: |

| Leader | We light the second candle, to remind us of the faith of God's people recorded in His word, the Bible - "a light for our way and a lamp for our path" - as they prepared for the birth of Jesus. |  |
